So, on to a lighter post. I have mentioned that I threw a small Birthday Party/Watch Party for Kevin at a local Chiefs bar in Omaha. I literally put it together in a day and a half. I wanted to wait until Kevin's ashes came back home to the family.
So, I made a hotel reservation, and on Saturday, I loaded Kevin's urn into the car and off we headed for Omaha. The party was on Sunday, and we had an entire section of the bar reserved for our group. It was truly a great time and I think Kevin would have loved it.
I got to see a lot of old friends and family, as well as meet some new friends and family. Kevin was truly lucky to have the circle of people he did in his life.
Oh, and the Chiefs won! Here are some great pictures we captured.
I realize that I probably missed inviting people, and for that I am truly sorry. But it was not meant to be a full blown memorial service, but rather a close group celebrating Kevin's birthday & cheering on the Chiefs. I just could not let the day go by and not do something in his honor simply because others were making things difficult.
